PROFILE SUMMARY

With bachelor of science in chemistry and over six years of proven work experience as a quality control Laboratory technician in food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Key tasks have been to plan and execute both chemical and microbiological tests for water and finished food/ pharmaceutical products among other roles mentioned in my employment history paragraphs. I have adequate experience in sampling and testing procedures (for both microbiology and chemistry), laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance, laboratory safety management, root cause analysis, corrective-preventive actions among other quality control and assurance competences I’ve listed in my competence paragraphs.

I have adequate knowledge and experience in implementation of: current Good manufacturing practice (cGMP), Good laboratory practice (GLP), current Good documentation practice (cGDocP), Food safety management systems and HACCP as adopted from ISO 22000:2018, BRC and IFS standards. I am conversant with implementation of Quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Testing laboratories management (ISO 17025:2017). I have been able to implement customer’s product specifications in the factory as well as investigation following client’s complaints. I have fully set up a quality control laboratory with the following aspects accounted for: Equipment installation and qualification, analytical methods development, validation and verification, microbiological culture media validations, generation of SOPs and general documentations for operation and compliance to statutory agencies.

OBJECTIVE:

Jan 2022 – to date: Quality Control Laboratory Chemist in-charge / Imani Harvest Limited, Uganda

Imani Harvest limited grows/procures and process dried organic fruits and vegetable products for export to EU market.

Accomplishment

Ongoing Responsibilities

Implementation of Food Safety Management Systems based on ISO 22000:2018, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, IFS and cGMP with emphasis on HACCP.

Ensuring product compliance to set food safety and quality specification.

Ensuring laboratory compliance to standards laid in cGMP, GLP, ISO 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 on quality management systems.

Medisel Kenya limited is a manufacturer of Veterinary drugs, mineral supplements and animal premixes with aims to improve quality of life for Major Markets across East African and Ethiopia.

Responsibilities and achievements

Planned and executed analysis of Water, Raw materials and Finished Veterinary products, managed the finished product stability studies program, validated and verified analytical methods, prepared analytical reports and certificate of analysis for release of finished products, ensured preparation and maintenance of Working reference standards, Trained and qualified junior quality staff, performed product quality reviews, ensured laboratory safety, ensured timely calibrations and servicing of equipment.

My coordination with other quality team members, helped the organization to pass through a number of audits from Major customer markets including Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania. We also passed audits from local regulatory bodies.

Successfully established and maintained a finished products stability study program which facilitated rapid improvements on various veterinary formulations. A number of degradation profiles for these formulations were comprehensively established.

Coordinated a team that managed intensive investigations on out of specification results and systematic closure of related CAPAs. As a result a number of underlying backlogs was significantly reduced to zero.

Responsibilities and achievements

Executed analysis of finished products for stability studies, prepared and implemented stability studies protocols, performed cleaning validations and verifications, prepared and maintained analytical reagents as well as analytical records.

My collaborative efforts with other team members showed the company through WHO prequalification in the year 2018.

Lead a team of HPLC analysts that facilitated migration from Lab solution software to a more data secure chromeleone software to control data integrity issues. Here I played a trainer role to a team of my colleagues.
