I have worked in the most safety conscious of environments in the Oil and Gas and GWO Offshore and Onshore and have excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety best practice. My roles have required me to take responsibility for Health and Safety.

I have focused on ensuring Safe working and operation of equipment which includes delivering training and assessing to personnel to operate plant, such as Heavy lift Cranes Offshore Over 2000 Tonnes Lifting Capacity. Types of heavy lift crane- Boka Heavy Lift, Jumbo Heavy Lift, Hansa Heavy Lift, Herema Heavy Lift and Bos Carlos.

I can also operate Heavy Tugger Winches to assist Heavy Lift Crane Operator.

Also Heavy Forklift truck 30 Tonnes and Mobile Cranes 100 Tonnes, Overhead Cranes 1000 Tonnes and over, also MEWPS and compiling and supervision of Lifting Plans.

I am a trained and certified Crane Inspector & certified inspector of rigging equipment.

I have attended a formal IOSH Managing Safety course.

Another qualification I have attained is my SQA in Assessing and Training.

I have all my GWO tickets for Wind Turbine and Sub Station work.

I carry out inspections all over the world and deliver training and assessing all over the world within the oil and gas sectors and GWO sectors.

I work sub-contract occasionally to Rely On Nutec 360 and EnerMech Ltd and also Wolf Offshore Ltd I also work for Offshore Marine working for Equinor and Orsted and Port Engineering Services Ltd doing Crane inspection and repair work and Training etc…..

I am working as a Trainer and Assessor and attached to the Training and Development Department in Aberdeen and Teesside.

I am training and assessing people in Offshore Crane refresher and Rigging refresher and working at heights and confined space training.

Training people in safe use of forklifts and mewps.

Since 2019 onwards to present day I train and Assess offshore crane operators on heavy lift cranes all over the world.

Huisman and Liebherr and NOV situated in various locations. This has been carried out on heavy lift barges etc and drill ships for different clients.

I am working as a Supervisor and Trainer assessor and Inspector and attached to the Training and Development Department and Inspection Department. I have also been training people for Dong Energy on Wind Farms. I have also carried out crane inspections for Dong Energy in Denmark.

In 2016 I carried out a month’s work in the Shetlands for Petrofac on Lagon-Tormore Natural Gas Plant. All lifting equipment was inspected and coded and reports completed for hand over to Total Oil and Gas.

Previous Work & Experience

2012- 2013: Port Engineering Services - Supervisor/ Inspector/ Trainer

I was employed as Senior Mechanical Engineer at Port Engineering Services; this role encompasses responsibilities as Project Engineer and Lifting Equipment and Crane Inspector.

I took responsibility for on-site project for ZPMC at DPW London Gateway.

Responsible for the whole site and Permits and Risk

Assessments and training.

2010- 2012: Apave - Supervisor/ Inspector/ Trainer

I was working as a Supervisor and Inspector and Trainer for Cranes and Equipment attached to the Training and Development Department.

I have an A.P.I Crane inspection certification from Sparrows. I had been inspecting cranes offshore.

I was the main LOLER Focal point for all lifting equipment and lifting plan manufacture, for Exxon and Marathon Oil and prepared associated Risk Assessments and Method statements for this company.

For Apave I had been training people for-

Mobile cranes. Operating, theory and practical. Offshore crane. Operating, theory and practical. Rigging training, basic and advanced levels. Forklift truck. Theory and practical.

Defensive driving. Theory and practical.

Abrasive wheel training(Safe use of Grinders and cutting disc tools) Chainsaw safe use and maintenance.

2006- 2010: Sparrows Offshore Ltd- Inspector/ Crane Mechanic, Operator

I was working as a Crane Inspector/ Mechanic / Operator/.

I travelled all over the world inspecting cranes for Sparrows Offshore.

I serviced and maintained variety of cranes and all manner of lifting equipment. Crane Inspections were carried out as per legislation. I was responsible for looking after other cranes in the field. Annual inspections were carried out to maintain the safety and integrity of all the platform cranes.

I was the main LOLER Focal point for all lifting and lifting plan manufacture for Chevron Oil in the region I worked.

2004- 2006: Atrax Ltd- Crane Mechanic, Operator

I was working on maintaining unmanned satellites. (Normally Unmanned Installations) off the Great Yarmouth coastline. I serviced and maintained the cranes and lifeboats and all lifting equipment. I was also the main crane operator for the whole site of Leman field.

2003-2004 Hedley Purvis Ltd. Pipefitter and Bolting Specialist and Supervisor.

This firm specialises in mechanical joint integrity tensioning and torquing. I carried out checks to ensure correctness of installation and carried out fitting using torquing or tensioning of the joints to the correct torque using a hydraulic method of torque and tensioning.

2003 – 2003: Atlantic Resourcing - Crane Operator, Mechanic

I undertook various Contract assignments with different clients from all over the World including Maersk Drilling in Denmark, where I worked as a Mechanic/Crane operator. I would carry out general maintenance work and servicing of cranes.

I also worked for Global Santa-fe as a Crane operator, working in the North Sea on Galaxy 1, a jack up rig.

2001 - 2003: Macgregor Energy Services Ltd - Crane Operator, Mechanic

This firm is an agency; I was employed as an Assistant crane operator offshore. One of my duties involved general maintenance work and servicing on cranes. Another duty was helicopter refuelling. Also I was operating cranes, lifting containers etc. A lot of rigging work was involved in this job. Also I was driving the fork lift truck unloading containers.

2001 – 2001: British Drilling and Freezing Ltd- Mechanic

This firm specialises in drilling on land, all over the world for minerals and oil and gas. I was working as a mechanic. A great deal of rigging was involved in this job, as all the equipment was portable, and moved from well to well. Role included operation of all terrain fork lift, to unload and load vehicles.

2000 – 2001: John Arthur and Son Bulk Haulage Ltd- Mechanic, Driver

This firm specialises in bulk liquid waste collection, all over the UK. I worked in the workshop maintaining vehicles and servicing, also the role included driving a 30,000-litre tanker (articulated) all over the UK collecting waste chemicals.
