Managed field team (small mechanical equipment / pipe crew) consisting of myself, three welders, three fitters, two helpers and a millwright / rotating equipment alignment specialist. Team members in unison were responsible for safe demolition, construction, turnover, commissioning and start-up of this small capital project.
Brief description of Scope of Work associated with project involved demolition of existing and replacing (pipe, plumbing, valves, fittings, hangers, anchors, supports, pump, pad, skid, motor, controls and instrumentation) a system involving 200 linear feet of 6" x 4" x 2" butt weld ASTM WP 316L SCH 10 SS piping, feeding from 6000 Gal. holding / mixing tank, feeding into tank cleaning and industrial housekeeping / maintenance spray nozzle system.
Tanks to be cleaned internally often have built in equipment (agitators, baffles, motor couples, pipe nozzles) creating shadows and conditions where is not certain if a particular spray nozzle can reliably clean all surfaces. Reliably optimizing internal tank cleaning based on a visual inspection of internals is not an option! Possible solutions researched and resolution decided upon involved integrating new technique known as TankClean Software. This software package replicated tank geometry and was able to generate a 3D model of tank cleaning geometry. Resultant: Near perfectly cleaned tanks internally. Resulting information was gathered and documented in form of PDF and Videofile to be used as basis for optimum cleaning profile when planning for and adding new tanks.
