Conceptual design and optimisation of a dual mode

ramjet engine inlet (11/2017 – 04/2018)

An attempt to extend the operating range of a Dual Mode Ramjet Inlet from mach 4-8 to mach 2-7 was made. The inlet was designed with a dual stepped cone geometry creating the optimum shock system needed for minimum or no spillage at the given mach range.Further, the thrust produced by the engine, possible mass of the entire engine, and the masses of the individual components were obtained.
