Facilities Manager: Job Description

As the Facilities Manager for Meylan Enterprises I was responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of the organization. To ensure that the organization has the most suitable working environment for its employees and their activities.

I had a wide field with a diverse range of responsibilities.

Typical daily work activities:

Preparing documents to put out tenders for contractors.

Project management and supervising and coordinating work of contractors.

Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.

Checking that agreed work by contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.

Responding appropriately to issues and needs of our building, branches and

employees as they arise on a daily basis.

Purchasing Manager: Job Description

As Meylan Enterprises Purchasing Manager I was responsible for buying the best quality equipment, goods and services for our company at the most competitive prices.

I am excellent at negotiating, networking and dealing with numbers as well as dealing with other factors such as sustainability, risk management and ethical issues.

I believe my position as Purchasing Manager was an important role. More than two thirds of revenue can be spent on buying the companies products or services meaning the Purchasing Manager can make a real difference in cost saving and profit.

Typical Daily work activities:

Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs.

Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.

Liaison between suppliers and manufacturers.

Identifying potential suppliers visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them.

Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided.

Processing approving invoices for payment.

Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future.

Supervising daily, all purchases by employees in Omaha and our branches.

Evaluating bids ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.

Government D.O.T. Compliance Manager

Responsible for compliance with all Government DOT Regulations.

Advise company officials and drivers on DOT regulation changes and new regulations.

Function as the company contact for DOT issues and concerns.

Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) Files or all drivers. Conduct file audits to ensure that its contents are accurate and correct all errors as necessary in order to comply with DOT regulations.

Ensure receipt of all medical cards and driver’s licenses and notify drivers when medical cards and/or drivers licenses are pending expiration.

Maintain weekly file of driver logs, IFTA reports, pre and post trip reports for all drivers. Audit logs and IFTA’s for violations and accuracy.

Return logs with violations to drivers to correct and track the correction and return of those logs.

Run log violation, missing log reports and follows up with drivers.

Conduct training to include driver logs, IFTA reports and company DOT policies.

Assist with any needs the driver may have which may include log questions, IFTA questions and DOT compliance questions.

In this position and due to having two other areas of responsibility it is a must that I was well organized with strong attention to detail and have the ability to work on multiple tasks with a fast paced environment.
