Responsible for retention of the Pollution Prevention Control Permit through day-to-day management of the site, ensuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory and licence requirements.

Supervision and control of waste in and out of the site, maintenance of accurate records, overseeing weighbridge, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Sourcing, managing and recording contractors and traders removing recyclable materials from the site. Tendering for commercial contractors to obtain supply of cover material for the landfill.

Liaise with contractors carrying out on-site gas management, sampling and monitoring of ground-water boreholes, leachate towers, lagoons and streams in accordance with licence agreements.

Successfully brought leachate levels within the landfill under control within six months of taking up role. The levels had risen to 6m throughout the landfill, and I reduced it to below 1m, as required by the Northern Ireland Environmental Agency in the PPC licence.

Overseeing two pipe-laying gangs, totaling 12 workers, and the small subcontractors’ operations. Assigned, and successfully executed, a number of complex sub-sites in the project, such as 6m digs, under High Voltage power lines, and pipe-laying requiring great precision and accuracy.

Ordering necessary materials and supervision of drawings and calculations. Liaising with foremen, engineers and contract managers on a daily basis. Overseeing safety matters on the site and ensuring regulations were adhered to. Preparing daily allocations sheets and clause 60.1(12) forms.

Preparing reports for site agent, contracts managers and directors based on used quantities and calculations. Compiling programme of works detailing daily digs and comparison with site investigation reports. Quantifying used materials and required materials for the project.
