Ambitious, Self-Sufficient and Dependable are a few choice words to describe me. I’m a young, energetic being with a willingness to learn more every day. I’ve blossomed in the Healthcare field within the last 5 years. Being in this field was a new endeavor that I have excelled in.! I’m a people person and hospitality is in my heart. I like talking, getting to know what people do and don’t like & them giving them great service and care.

Employment History

Ochsner Health Systems: 08/2013-07/2016

As a Laboratory Technician I was responsible for various laboratory functions which include phlebotomy, specimen receiving and processing, specimen accessioning as well as distribution. I assisted and dealt with patients on a daily basis. To me its was all about finding ways to make the procedure quick and painless, while making my patients comfortable & that’s what I did. In addition I operated telephone lines, sent emails, fax documents, did reports and also resolved any problems pertaining to the lab within my scope of practice.

The Blood Center 12/2012- 08/2013 – Mobile Phlebotomist

As a Phlebotomist I conducted mini interviews with donors, asking a series of questions. I took vital signs, blood pressure, temp & pulse followed by a finger stick. I assembled equipment such as the tourniquet, needles, blood collection bags, and any other devices for the procedure. I located a vein and proceeded with the venipuncture technique. I was apart of the mobile team so setting up for blood drives was apart of my duty. This required me to lift, bend, carry beds and medical supplies into our work location for that day. Then setting up for the drive & of course breaking down when finished. I always remained polite and friendly, Customer Service is important to me and in a Health Care setting I want the donors to feel welcomed and pleased with me and my work.

Sobou: 05/2012-12/12

I was a server 6 years before I decided to switch from Hospitality to the Medical Field. I greeted guests, presented menus and made recommendations on food and wines. To do that I had to be knowledgeable of everything we had to offer. I had to monitor the needs of my guests to respond to a request in a timely manner. I processed payments, cash and credit cards and provided them with their wants until they left the table. This restaurant had a very high volume so I learned how to work under pressure in a fast paced environment as well. Im very much so still Interested in working in the Food & Beverage Hospitality Industry.
