RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate turret punch press to punch holes or layout marks in metal sheets, plates, strips, or bars, following charts which list machine settings for each cut

Insert, aligns and locks punches dies in turret, using hammer, shims, feelers, micrometers and setscrews

Place work piece on table manually or by using crane

Align work piece to scale and end gauge on machine clamps it to machine table

Push button to turn turret to specified punch die

Turn cranks to set indicator to specified dimension on forward lateral machine scale

Press pedal to activate punch

Repeat operation for each machine setting specified on charts

Position centre punch from turret to touch plate turns crank to scratch layout lines

May compute punch charts from blueprints, using square, scale, and applying knowledge of shop mathematics

May punch holes in non-metallic materials.

The Plating Technician is responsible for maintaining processing equipment [E.g.: chemicals, tanks, gauges, jigs etc]

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Etch specified portions of metal parts materials used in manufacturing,using immersion equipment, templates, hand tools, and precision measuring instrument

Read work order, blueprints and process specifications to define location of degreasing and etch,finished dimensions and method sequence of operations

Clan surface of parts materials to make sure uniform adhesion of maskent

Apply maskent to surface to be etched,scribes etch line,using template,and removes maskent from etch areas

Immerse parts materials in etching solution for specified time, manually or using hoist

Remove objects from etch solution, rinses objects with water and removes remaining maskent

Measure etched parts materials for conformance to specifications, using micrometers, scales, and other precision measuring instruments

May immerse parts and materials in successive baths rinses to perform surface processing in addition to etch, like picking,chromodizing, passivating,degreasing, and stripping, and be designated Process Equipment Operator
