Developed Windows 2000 and 2003 server disk images created with Altiris Rapid Deploy and used sysprep to automate a large scale server roll out of new IBM eSeries servers. I was responsible for all OS installs, necessary drivers, patches and applications, including IIS, SQL and Exchange, necessary to create disk images for a world class data center. I also worked closely with desktop and laptop imaging. I was responsible for day to day support of 400+ Intel servers with NT 4.0, 2000 Server, 2000 Advanced Server, 2003 Server and three Windows 2000 clusters. Server hardware included Compaq, Dell, HP and IBM. I was responsible for daily backups using Veritas NetBackup. Daily duties included problem escalation and resolution, documentation, verification of nightly back-up jobs, adding new backup jobs, tape rotation and off-site tape storage. I was also a member of the server consolidation / migration team moving from NT 4.0 server to 2000 or 2003 server and Active Directory. The data center increased from 104 Intel servers to over 400 in a one year period due to the rapidly expanding growth of the company, and we were able to keep pace with the projects due to the ability to rapidly deploy new server hardware.

Streamlined return merchandise authorization process. Responsible for creating and refining a new process to test and repair or restock returned computer and telephone equipment and to return defective parts under warranty to the proper vendor for replacement. Worked with a team of three others to reduce over four million dollars of parts that could not be accounted for, and was able to reduce this to less than one million in one month.

Supported legacy NT servers while IBM migrated 500+ users to new IBM servers and support model. Responsibilities included an NT file and print server, DHCP server, PDC, BDC, RAS and 24 rack mount modems. Daily support of Lantronix terminal servers, DEC VT terminals, Eltron label printers, Zebra label printers, and Symbol and Intermec handheld bar code scanners was also required. Migration from four previous companies into one support model required extensive planning and documentation of existing systems that were not previously documented.

Updated HP-UX workstations nation-wide that control Nortel DMS series voice switches. Responsibilities included coordinating installation of LAN drops, IP address assignment and reconfiguration to allow remote access with Exceed. Reinstallation of HP-UX and hardware configuration also required as needed. Restoration of HP-UX fromback-up tapes required for corrupted OS.

Installed software and application updates to the sales force laptops and completed an audit and inventory of all existing equipment. I also implemented an overnight laptop replacement policy from a spare parts pool when a unit fails, is damaged, lost or stolen. Disk imaging with Symantec Ghost allowed failed units to be configured and delivered within 24 hours.

My primary focus has been on a project to deploy a new software package and hardware to approximately one hundred users to run all phases of an aircraft heavy maintenance base.

Returned to GTE Supply at the customer's request to train full time GTE employees to take over the Novell NetWare LAN and cc:Mail administration. I was one of two people on a project to transition from a legacy remote access product to an encrypted IP dial-up product that can be accessed via the Internet to allow traveling employees to access the LAN and email from anywhere in the world via the Internet. I was also one of three people on a project that planned, tested and implemented Microsoft Exchange as an SMTP gateway to handle incoming and outgoing Internet mail to replace Lotus cc:Mail for 3500+ users. Converted the entire sales department from cc:Mail to Exchange. Tasked with a project to create and test hard disk images for each of the current PC models that GTE Supply was deploying. Secondary responsibility for all Novell NetWare and Windows NT servers, as well as thirty-one cc:Mail post offices, two Microsoft Exchange Servers, DHCP, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.

Resolved problems with International routing of cc:Mail via modem and TCP/IP. I also assisted in support of cc:Mail at Frito Lay's International Headquarters supporting approximately one hundred-fifty users in Texas, as well as other administrators in thirty-five countries totaling two hundred and seventy-five post offices. Daily responsibilities included cc:Mail routing via modem and TCP/IP, maintenance, and monitoring via cc:Mail View, as well as daily administration of four databases release 6.x and 8.x post offices. Also assisted in preparations for a cc:Mail to Exchange migration and led the pilot program.

Team member supporting twenty-seven Novell NetWare 4.10 and 4.11 servers, thirty-two cc:Mail post offices, eight Reach-Out dial-in PC's, two Internet mail servers and two hundred and forty-seven network printers. Daily responsibilities included creating, moving and deleting Novell NetWare, cc:Mail and Internet mail accounts, as well as cc:Mail maintenance and routing which was monitored via cc:Mail View and configured to page via the cc:Mail Pager Gateway. Member of a two-person team to re-architect cc: Mail and Internet mail for 3500+ users. Completed this task in less than two months with zero down time.

Supported Novell NetWare 3.12 servers, Novell NetWare 4.10 servers and Windows NT 4.0 servers, two DHCP servers, three cc:Mail post offices, including administration, maintenance and routing.
