Coursework & Projects
Design of a Highly Repeatable Centrifugal Governor 04/2014-05/2014
• Modeled the governor for various leg sizes through SolidWorks Modeling.
• Simulated static and frequency studies of the governor by using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Iterated FEA analysis for various leg sizes, therefore to obtain the maximum axial deflection and frequency.
• Arrived at optimized size of the governor by comparing FEA results.
Electrochemical Biosensors-Review Technology and Applications 09/2013-12/2013
• Learned and introduced the principles and classifications of electrochemical biosensors.
• Presented electrochemical detection techniques through variations of operations and current applications of
electrochemical biosensors in different fields by providing examples.
• Provided a future look of electrochemical biosensors.
Metal Oxide Nano-crystal Film for Low-Cost Solar Cells 09/2012-12/2012
• Learned a new method of coating titanium dioxide film for the solar cells based on the research of Professor
Hai Wang.
• Analyzed strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threads of this method by comparing other methods for
manufacturing solar cells in various companies.
Design of a Benzene-Methylbenzene Distillation Column 07/2010
• Calculated flow rate of distillate and bottom through mass balance and determined the theoretical number of
stages by graphical method.
• Calculated overall section efficiency of distillation column to obtain the practical number of stages and
chose the type of the stages.
• Calculated pressure, density within the column and determined diameters of the column and the distance
between stages.
• Determined other accessory equipment: pump, condenser and reboiler.
• Moldeled the distillation column by using AutoCAD.
