Swift Transportation, Phoenix AZ.

Used RPGIII, RPG 400, RPGIV and Free Form RPG in an ILE environment, as well as the above list of development tools listed above during this period of service.

SENIOR PROGRAMMER/ANALYST. Performed software programming and analysis on

projects that had a major impact both operationally and financially for Swift Transportation. These included system data interfaces between Swift and its Subsidiary companies. Transportation Planning, Business Monitoring and Business Intelligence feeds and reporting.

Also performed instrumental data conversions in the area of Company Acquisitions to allow data from third party database system to integrate into the DB2 database on the ISeries. This allowed those companies to smoothly transition into the Swift Transportation operation model.

Performed systems design and analysis as well as software development as needed on many other projects that increased the Operational success of this company.


Performed project supervision for a team of programmers assigned to the Operations Development team.

This included interfacing with the user community, gathering specifications, creating project functional specifications and scheduling/assigning projects to my team. Also overviewed each project to insure the completeness of QA and documentation set required to meet Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Also provided support and consultation for my team when technical issues arose.

Lead a Company wide effort to modernize the ICC transportation package green screen formats to GUI formats using the Profound UI tool to accomplish this effort. Took the lead by being the first to convert an entire system and document that process. Additionally, trained my team using that documentation and that system as an example to prime them in their efforts to come up to speed on the use of that tool. This effort will have a major impact on the way Swift Transportation system function in the future.
