Volunteering for the Summer Reading Program at Phoenix Public Libraries provided an excellent experience to learn leadership skills. My role was to encourage summer readers to reaching their goals by sharing mine and by rewarding success. I would assess reading plans and distribute prizes to eager young readers who reached their goals.

Part of my role as a Pet Care associate at PetSmart was to educate the patron about the pets they were interested in adopting, as well as to answer any questions they may have. This was a great experience that helped to enhance my interpersonal communication skills. I have also participated in volunteer work, both community and research related, this allowed me to work closely and effectively with many team mates in a fast-paced environment.
