The company is going through a very transitional phase and we operate with minimal staff and limited resources to try to bring properties up to acceptable standards. Because of my extensive experience and ability I have been assigned some of the most challenging properties. My area of expertise, however, is in training, mentoring and supervision of property managers. I was quite successful doing this in Hawaii for many years.

I was responsible for the opening and management of company operations on the island of Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii. I directly supervised all neighbor island operations and indirectly managed a staff of 150. I was responsible for all brokerage activities, legal matters and all licensing matters. I personally managed 9 large premier properties on the island Maui, the Big Island, and the island of Oahu including the well known Ilikai hotel. I have been involved in new projects from their inception to completion and full occupancy. I reported jointly to the company President as well as the corporate holding company President and CEO.

I was responsible for property management of 8 condominium associations and 1 tax credit apartment project. I was responsible for all on-site supervision, budgeting, financial review, owner relations, and contract negotiations. We were a small firm, with a reputation for excellent, hands on management and close attention to detail. I was instrumental in the startup of the company and its growth to 30 properties. My clients insisted on contract clauses that allowed their respective associations to cancel their contracts with my employer in the event I was to leave the company for any reason.

I was responsible for all accounting and administrative functions, including A/P, G/L, P/R, and cash management for 117 fee managed properties including multi-family, commercial, retail, condominiums, and 7 hotels. I supervised a staff of 14 in the corporate office including 8 degreed personnel. I performed the financial analysis work for the hotel/motel property owners for their compliance audits for the FDIC. I acted as a direct liaison between the company and owners representatives including investors, institutional owners, FDIC, and the Resolution Trust Corporation (branch of the U.S. government). I supervised 4 out of area properties personally in addition to my corporate duties.

My responsibilities included all company marketing for fee management of 27 properties (appx 6400 units), supervision of property acquisition team, training of staff, budget preparation and monitoring, direct property supervision, and administration of property audit program. I was responsible for all administrative functions of the division. I was responsible for all property financial reporting to owners, which included weekly reports, monthly financial statements, income analysis, annual budgets, and marketing reports. I also supervised major and minor rehab of properties. I set up the division for Farb Investments and supervised its growth from 3 properties to 27 in a period of less than 18 months.

I was responsible for analysis of financial statements, tax returns and audits for client companies. Our firm acted as a consultant for Surety bond companies on default construction projects. I was responsible for the completion of various types of construction projects including airports, major interstate highways, nuclear power plants, office buildings, apartments and sewage treatment plants. I was responsible for the financial matters associated with the completion of the projects and the payments for the contractor’s obligations in regard to insured projects.
