WORKING EXPERIENCE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Co-ordinate and monitor all health, safety and environmental activities to ensure agreed safety and loss prevention standards are fully implemented and properly followed.

Provide hs&e management system support to the integrated operations project.

Co-ordinate the cross-divisional management of hs&e with regard to the project.

Manage the activities of the integrated operations hse specialists assigned to rig sites.

Conduct training or ensure training is conducted in accordance with hazards, identified via the risk assessments carried out and to comply with legislative, client and internal requirements.

Recommend activities and changes to promote best practice, eliminate or reduce actual and potential losses.

Undertake daily hse inspection ensuring follow- up and rectification of detected irregularities and report same to senior operation manager.

Review the hse manual and all health, safety and environment related documentation, including method of statements, work permit procedures and safety equipment requisition to ensure compliance with establish standards and update all firm/clients established policies to support hse programs.

Assist in the preparation of firms/clients specific hse operating procedures to ensure contract obligations are met.

Review scope of work completed from hse perspective, to identify trends and possible exposure to problems.

Reporting directly to the engineering/operation manager on hse matters such as job/project hazard analysis, hazard control plan/hazard management plan (hse-ms plan) weekly/monthly cashes statistical report/ meeting, emergency respond control plan, security plan and general enforcement on safety rules, regulations and precaution on site both onshore and offshore.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow the safety policies and procedures in accordance with the safety plan and the company’s overall objectives and strategy.

Issuing of work permits to conduct minor engineering works at facilities and obtain approval for it.

Utilize safety inspection checklist for daily safety inspection at facilities (covering automatic fire detection and fire suppression systems) in all plant areas in compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsible for notification of safety manager on serious issues relaqted to work place safety and issues which might result in media notification or litigation.

Regularly calibrate all safety equipment and inspect the operability of first aid supplies, fire equipment and fire extinguishers where required throughout the site to ensure it is in serviceable and operable order in case of accident.

Report unsafe conditions and /or unsafe acts of workers.

Cordon off dangerous places with a proper fence and provide visible and appropriate warning signs.

Post safety information, instructions, warnings and danger signs throughout the site.

Distribute company safety posters and provide input to safety manager on recommendations for future safety media.

Maintain records of safety systems and devices including serial numbers, locations and expiry of each.

Determine potential risk areas and take necessary corrective action for those unsafe conditions.

Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, chemical safety concepts during safety inspections with the safety manager.

Implement on- site safety and emergency management programs to improve overall safety conditions in the site and company base.

Provide suggestions for improved processes to safety manager in line with the safety plan.

Respond to safety issues during weekend and off-hours and attempt to resolve them.

Carry out safety operation at alakri shell giant gas plant.

Carry out environmental impact remediation & spill control

Prepare and maintain an updated hse plan for the project

Monitor adherence to the project hse plan through inspections and audits, both formal and ad-hoc.

Attend hazop’s and other key safety reviews

Coordinate the investigation of any hse incidents and ensure that any resulting action items are closed out

Maintain a safety statistics record over the life of the project

Additional skills:

My concern has always remained to carry out any onshore/offshore operations in safe manner.

All field personnel must have positive attitude towards safety and accident prevention and must be responsible for quality services and performance.

Make sure proper ppe and other safety equipment are used as well as safe work practices. All unsafe acts/conditions and other incidents must be reported to the supervisors’ in-charge.

Certain habits or material are prohibited onshore/offshore such as:

Smoking is prohibited except in certain designated areas like the accommodation quarters.

Fighting is highly prohibited at locations.

Explosives, fire arms, fireworks, highly inflammable articles like gases under pressure, poisonous gases, radioactive substances, alcohol, drugs etc.
