SaaS Operations:

•Designed and grew datacenter from a flat, non-redundant environment to a fully redundant, load balanced, self-healing, and zero-downtime, multi-tiered cisco environment.

•Dramatically increased network and platform security via security best practices, firewalls, NAS, centralized logging, IDS, redesign of network, and more.

•Significantly Reduced OpEX and CapEx expenditures through efficient use of existing equipment, technology and adding capacity planning with metric monitoring.

•Added significant monitoring for capacity planning, troubleshooting, automating alert actions and refining to actionable alerts.

•Increased uptime from low 90th percentile to 4-9s or 5-9s, depending on the product.

•Interfaced with business and software managers to create strategic direction for the platform.

•Complete overhaul and redesign of the engineering office’s IT environment to bring it up to best practice and dramatically increase speed and uptime and security.

•Security architecture environment improvements in all areas to pass both SOC-2 (Type 2) and ISO 27001 audits.

•Regularly interfaced with sales and marketing for technology messaging, contract compliance, budgeting (for all technology in the division), reasonable SLA, pricing models and training of technology.

In 12/15 added role as the Sr. Manage Global Network Operations/Engineering and Principal Architect:

•Lead on a centralized Call Center VOIP and UC platform (2.5 MIL project).

•Consolidation of older datacenters, to a new redesigned centralized datacenter and DR.

•Designed and built 2 new call-centers overseas with new, modern, architecture, which became the reference design.

•Complete Monitoring Revamp centered around Orion (Solarwinds), including capacity, application, security, logging, traps and alarms, etc.

•Replace OSPF with EIGRP and tuned the dynamic routing for path redundancy and optimization. Fixed all BGP.

•Fix and tuned the VPLS WAN fully meshed network.

•Significant security improvements working with the SecOps team and VP.

•Global establishment of QOS to support real time applications and VoIP.

•Complete architecture redesign, and site refresh for all call-centers worldwide, and data-centers (1.5 MIL project).

•Redesign WiFi infrastructure at many sites increasing performance and security. Including NAS for BYOD, Heat maps for coverage, dynamic frequency, etc.

•Manage a team of 10 direct reports and approximately 16 technical reports. This team is comprised of Linux SA, DBA, Network engineers, Developers and Project Managers.

•We ran eight IT Operations Datacenter environments in the Western region.

•Designed and implemented all aspects of creating a follow the sun support methodology for IT Operations as a tier 3 department.
