Title : Design and Thermal Analysis Of Piston

Softwares : Unigraphics (NX10.0), Ansys 14.0

Description

In an engine, Piston purpose is to transfer force from expanding gas in the cylinder to the crankshaft via a piston rod and/or connecting rod. In this, the design of piston is drawn in 3D- design software, Unigraphics (NX10.0). In the analysis of piston, two types of analysis were done, one is Modal Analysis and the other is Steady state thermal Analysis. In the model analysis we get the deformations at different Natural frequencies and in the thermal analysis we get the maximum heat flux values and temperature distribution are found by the steady state thermal analysis of piston. The Analysis was done at stress concentrated areas with different boundary conditions by that the comparison was taken place. For all the materials which material having low heat flux and temperature distribution values that material will be used for built the designed body. So from the results we have to optimize the materials for piston by thermal properties. TECHNICAL SKILLS
