Work Experience

Global Payments, Atlanta, GA, March 2013 – Dec 2015: Senior Database Administrator

This company processes credit card transactions all over the world. I supported Development and Test systems mostly, but was also called on for Production issues. There are 10-20 PL/SQL developers here, and each one has his/her own Oracle instance. I created instances, modified and maintained instances, imported and exported application data, and provided PL/SQL support for product code. I provided support for Oracle Streams and Golden Gate, and for IBM’s CDC (Change Data Capture). All databases were running on Linux OS hosts. I was also part of the team that upgraded Oracle from version 10 to version 11.

Manhattan Associates, Atlanta GA, October 2011 – March 2013: Principal Database Administrator

This company develops and sells Supply Chain management software, which runs on top of an Oracle database. In the R&D branch, I supported internal Oracle and DB2 databases, running on AIX, for development and testing. I supported the database creation portion of the product install process, and I supported customer databases for the Customer Service and Professional Services teams. This support included RAC one-node, performance tuning, problem resolution, ETL, and product implementation.
