A privately owned preclinical CRO that develops and implements research tools that allow our customers to better predict human outcomes with annualized revenues in excess of $32M (FYE 2017) & 150 employees.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Report to the President/CEO. Currently responsible for the planning, operating performance and leadership of the company’s financial accounting, facilities and administrative functions. Responsible for identifying and mitigating business and operational risks worldwide. Manage 7 direct and 150 indirect reports in a matrix organization within 4 sites: US and Panama. Accountabilities include forecasting, capital and operating budgeting, cash management, acquisitions, internal controls, payroll, IT, HR, Facilities and general administration. A private equity backed (Wind River Holdings, L.P. based in King of Prussia, PA) equipment & process optimization company serving numerous industries with annualized revenues in excess of $58M (FYE 2011) & 150 employees.

Implemented a new accounting system (from BPCS AS-400 to Vantage) within a multi-site environment.

Created daily, weekly and monthly dashboards for the Company and private equity firm, which include Financial Report pack, Operations Performance Data, and Sales Channel Dashboard.

Re-established financial control, leading company from severe losses (-$1.3M) to strong and sustained bottom-line profitability ($9.5M) in just 8 years through outsourcing engineering, teardown, paint and manufacturing operations to foreign and domestic partners.

Grew revenue 190% (from $20M to $58M) by executing a series of business development initiatives that expanded international sales, opened new markets, and built new sales channels by transforming mode to market from Manufacturer’s Representatives to Direct Salespeople and Regional Sales Managers. Secured $750K in Federal R&D Tax Credits through Tax Credit studies with Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Increased production by $38M (190%) by utilizing lean manufacturing methods and reduced production census count by 18%.

Established an Approved Supplier List to improve quality, cost and delivery, which yielded a 23% improvement in on-time delivery performance while increasing profits.

Reduced inventory from $2M, or 22% through the implementation of just-in-time inventory management.

Grew revenues by $38M (190%) while increasing census count only 11% through the investment in IT projects such as: order entry system, CRM system, electronic job jackets, and a price-book database, thus increasing operating profit $8.1M.

Recruited initially to rebuild the company’s accounting and financial operations. Advanced quickly to CFO and challenged to turnaround a history of declining sales and financial losses.

A contract manufacturer of printed circuit boards, electromechanical products for semiconductor equipment, telecommunications, medical electronics and robotics, with annual revenues of $30M & 150 employees.

CONTROLLER

Recruited initially to stabilize financial positioning of the company as part of a turnaround team. Accountable for finance and accounting operations, tax planning, and treasury and cash management. Reported to CFO.

Divested an underperforming business segment, yielding $44M.

Implemented a J.D. Edwards ERP system that integrated 2 systems into a single application, slashing the census count by 2 employees and saving $100K annually.

EARTH LINK (previously ONEMAIN.COM), Atlanta, GA 1999 – 2001

A national, publicly-held (NASDAQ::ELNK) internet service provider with annual revenues in excess of $1.3B.

CONTROLLER – East Region, Lancaster, PA

Joined OneMain.com, a $150M national, internet service provider, charged with establishing the company’s east region accounting and financial operations and to consolidate 17 individual financial reporting units. Managed 12 direct reports. Reported to the Corporate Controller in Reston, VA.

Outsourced a new payroll system and implemented a PeopleSoft ERP system that consolidated 17 separate financial reporting systems into a single application, slashing the census count by 25 employees yielding annual savings of $1.5M.

Conducted due diligence in the acquisition of two subscriber purchases, yielding additional annual revenue of $5M.

Secured $1.1M of Grants and jobs tax credits from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to procure network equipment and create jobs.

Reduced network access costs with Bell Atlantic & Commonwealth Telephone, for four business units, in excess of $1M annually.
