Due to the changing environment within my current employer I am seeking a new start within an Organizations IT Department that will challenge me and allow me to utilize all of my skills that I have accrued over my career.

Professional summary

Started my IT career 30+ years ago. I have been with my current employer AMEC Foster Wheeler exceeding 23 years. I have held various positions such as Desktop Support Lead, IT Coordinator and System Admin at the Local Office level. Currently I am in the role of an Infrastructure Operations Specialist within the Global Infrastructure Services team. My Primary responsibilities are the monitoring, upgrading and maintenance the North American Datacenter located at the AT&T IDC location in Lithia Springs Georgia

Manage and maintain operations of the corporate as well as various regional datacenters in the Americas Region including our growing IAAS cloud based environments with Azure a vCloud Air DR

Modernize North American datacenter in Atlanta with new Dell Compellent storage system to utilize VMware Enterprise+ features such as HA,DRS, SDRS, distributed switches to provide a higher level of performance, availability and ease of management.

Setup VMware infrastructure monitoring with vROPS and vLog Insight which resulted in resolve times for issues.

Perform installations and upgrades of server operating systems, system software, system patches and hot fixes.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams and procedures for designated technology areas.

Work with the development team to assess technology and hosting requirements for mission critical systems.

Respond to assigned tickets within the Service Now ticketing system to resolve problems in the designated technology areas.

Play a key role in the rollout of new hardware and software technologies.

Assist with technology planning through ongoing research of new technologies providing my opinion and experience.

Together with the Development team, manage and maintain monitoring of key systems to ensure SLA requirements are met and offer proactive problem resolution.

Conduct hardware and software audits, and review of server and storage infrastructure to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.

Play a main point of contact for technical problems encountered by staff within the organization.

Follow established procedures regarding all aspects of server and network equipment maintenance, installation and removal.

Involved in numerous proof of concept environments for new storage, disaster recovery and monitoring solutions.

Provide technical guidance, advice and assistance to other members of the team when required.

Perform operational tasks associated with Data Center implementation, migration and deployments utilizing remote-hands.

Identify areas for process and efficiency improvement within Data Center operations.

Ensure all necessary operational processes and procedures are carried out with a high level attention to detail.

Generate reports on data Center metrics for management.

Work with equipment vendors as required to diagnose and repair faulty hardware, order replacement parts and coordinate/document RMAs to facilitate repairs.

Perform maintenance during scheduled downtime weekends.
