Resident Engineer with SBG - JV, a CM tri-venture of Shaw, Baker & Gannett - Fleming; on a New York City, Department of Environmental Protection, Waste Water Treatment Plant project, at Newtown Creek, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I oversaw civil aspect of new construction of the Central Residuals Building. This is a Wick's Law contract with a total value of over $355 million, covering four prime contractors. The structure contains secondary screens, degritting and skimming equipment which segregates and channels this primary treatment residual to dumpsters for disposal. This treatment process has a Consent Order Decree Milestone of $20 million from the state and federal authorities that will be achieved more than one year ahead of schedule for the City of New York. This time frame was maintained using a hands on approach to resolve a multitude of Request for Information submissions with a commitment of partnering with the owner, engineer of record, contractor and inspection staff. This required engineering directives, alternatives and implementations to be instituted in a timely fashion with the cooperation of all parties to have an attitude of “Do It Once and Do It Right” frame of mind.
