Position: Plant Manager
Responsibilities: Responsible for all production and personnel at the Mattoon Lamp Plant. This plant makes Halogen lamps for various industries to include automotive customers and internal Energy Efficient Halogen bulbs. I lead 11 salaried and 133 hourly non-union employees.
Accomplishments:
- The plant beat its financial Operating Plan in 2016 for the first time in 15 years!
- Immediately began changing the Quality culture to be more
- Opened better lines of communication with all employees and leaders
GENERAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING, Circleville, OH August 2011- December 2015
Position: Manager of Shop Operations
Responsibilities: Managed all the assembly operations for the Linear Fluorescent Lighting (LFL) department, then managed the start up of two new Energy Efficient Halogen (EEH) assembly lines along with the Flares, Coiling, Cement Mix and Basefill areas. Managed 3 Team Leaders and up to 87 non-union associates.
Accomplishments:
- In 2014, successfully brought both EEH assembly grps on line across 3 shifts and hit all our shipping goals for
our Walmart customer.
- In 2012, I successfully led the LFL grp to the best year ever in Machine Efficiency and Shrinkage.
- In 2012, I was part of a 4-person team which began implementing Lean Mfg at our site. We set the bar for Lean
implementation at the other GE Lighting sites.
HUSQVARNA OUTDOOR PRODUCTS, Orangeburg, SC 2011
Position: Assembly Process Owner
Responsibilities: Managed all the assembly operations for the Tiller, Snow Thrower and Professional ZTR tractor assembly lines. Managed 2 supervisors and over 140 non-union associates.
Accomplishments:
- Immediately re-introduced 5S and began improving the overall appearance of the shop
- Assumed control of a disorganized ZTR Frame Weld group and turned it around within a month
US YACHIYO, Marion, OH 2010
Position: Assistant Manager of Production
Responsibilities: Successful leadership of the Weld Assembly area of a Plastic Fuel Tank manufacturer to include cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Managed 3 salaried and 67 non-union associates over all 3 shifts.
Accomplishments:
- Heavily involved in the preparation, organization, and standard work for the new civic model fuel tank
- Created a future state plan to reduce the work force with new product introduction based on current time studies
WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG CORPORATION, Herrin, IL & Marion, OH 1999 – 2008
Positions: Assembly Manager, Quality Director, Director of Operations
Responsibilities:
Maytag: Managed all assembly operations over 2 shifts for 4 years. Then promoted to Quality Director and managed all the quality operations at the site for over 2 years. Supervised up to 13 salaried and 300 union associates. Company bought out by Whirlpool in 2006.
Whirlpool: Created and then lead the first ever Weekend shift at Whirlpool. Then as Director of Support Operations managed all the weekday/weekend operations for the various assembly support groups. Managed up to 12 salaried and 1193 non-union associates with a budget of $45 Mil. Laid off in 2008 during the recession.
Accomplishments:
- $230K saved in 2003 during a production ramp up on the Washer line; $184K on the Dryer Line
- Successfully created, started up and led the first full weekend shift for Whirlpool
- Met all expectations by reaching a maximum production rate of over 9000 dryers within 5 months
- Reduced the OSHA recordable rate by 33% in 2008
- Led the first Quick Change-over Lean event in our stamping dept reducing change-over by 50%
