Resume:

I have over six years experience in project management in urban mobility

and traffic engineering design and over fifteen years experience in civil

engineering. My experience is focused on the management of public sector

budgets and staff based at Manchester City Council (England) and monitoring

the effectiveness of urban mobility programs implemented in recent years in

this city. I have developed a wide range of skills through participation in

several projects, including consultation exercises, feasibility studies,

design engineering, site supervision and construction and project

management.

My working career began as a Trainee Engineer at Roscoe Capita, a company

involved in the production of detailed design drawings bus routes, bus

stops, signage, parking areas, etc. Following the completion of my Civil

Engineering degree, I worked in companies Babtie and Parsons Brinckerhoff,

where my experience increased with the design and construction of roads,

rail routes and drainage systems with two years experience as a resident

engineer. In October 2004, I moved into project management and team

leadership seconded to Manchester City Council where I gained 5 years

experience in managing budgets, staff and traffic improvement projects.

In November 2010 I relocated to Colombia in the city of Bogota. In December

of that year, I started working for a year at the consulting firm GSD Plus,

as a contractor in civil engineering, my projects included the design of

cycle routes in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), pedestrian improvements in the

five major cities of Colombia and the creation of a Cycle Manual with the

standard requirements of design and signage for Colombia. In March 2012 I

carried out a 6 month contract working for Odebrecht as the Support

Infrastructure Manager for a prefeasibility study to increase Cerrejon's

coal mine from 32mtpy to 64 mtpy.

Cycle Route Designer (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil). Designed cycleroutes in Rio

De Janeiro, Brasil in four towns connecting to Rio de Janeiro. The concept

was to encourage cycling in Rio by using existing facilities, whilst

improving pedestrian accessibility and public spaces. The purpose was to

ensure the connectivity of all towns to Rio de Janeiro to help reduce

traffic volumes in the area.

Pedestrian Improvement & Accident Reduction (Colombia). The main purpose of

the report was to provide solutions in reducing accidents in five cities of

Colombia (Bogota, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali & Medellin). ITDP had

identified accident hotspots in the cities by the use of accident

statistics. The design required identifying appropriate solutions in

reducing accidents by using the following concepts:

. The introduction or improvement of pedestrian crossing facilities;

. Reducing vehicles speeds with the introduction of traffic calming

features.

. Proposing additional staircases at Transmilenio Stations to encourage

discourage pedestrians from crossing the highway at dangerous

locations.

Cycle Design Manual (Colombia). Incorporated my international experience

of traffic management within the UK to produce a cycle design manual for

use in Colombia. The manual consisted of standard design concepts, which

provided for bidirectional, single use, shared use, segregated and

for connectivity and also looked at aspects of cycle parking.
