I am a highly experienced Business Intelligence (BI) consultant with a varied background including both hands-on consulting as well as custom end-user training. I have worked with the Crystal Reports/Enterprise solution for SAP BW since the first release of v8.5. I have developed an extensive list of best practices outlining the proper use of Crystal Reports with SAP BW. I possess strong communication skills and have worked on a wide variety of BI projects over the past 8 years. My deep knowledge of Crystal Reports and the Business Objects Enterprise Integration Kit for SAP BW allow me to provide clients with high quality report deliverables and expert guidance on how to best utilize the solution. I am a senior consultant who can handle most any task relating to the integration of Crystal Reports/Enterprise with SAP BW including project management, installation and configuration, report development, and end-user training/mentoring.

Professional Experience

Hitachi Metals – August 2008 (Independent Contractor)

Brought into an on-going project by the prime contractor to help the client analyze and understand the use of Business Objects BI technologies (primarily Crystal Reports) in their newly implemented SAP BI 7 landscape.

Reviewed the SAP BI Road Map and answered customer's questions.

Provided an overview of the solution along with recommendations on how best to proceed into an implementation phase.

The World Bank – April – August 2008 (Independent Contractor)

Developed approx. 60 reports for the ARPP project against SAP BI v7.

Used various advanced features of Crystal to provide solutions to difficult reporting requirements including linked sub reports, advanced conditional formatting, and joining multiple queries in one report.

Created and delivered a 4 day custom report development course for 15 IT developers and business analysts.

Provided guidance to client regarding best practices on proper utilization of the Business Objects BI tool set in an SAP BW environment.

CHEP – Dec. 2006 – July 2007 (Independent Contractor)

Developed approx. 25 mission critical reports against SAP BI v7.

Utilized the new SAP BW MDX Query driver and developed best practices for determining when to use the new MDX driver over the original BW Query driver.

Provided best practices for developing BW queries for use with Crystal Reports.

Updated and configured Business Objects XI.

Worked on a large Oracle-based system for the Division of Child Welfare (Trails system). Contracted to re-work almost 50 highly complex reports that were experiencing various problems

Responsible for systems administration for the PROFS office automation system running under VM/SP CMS.

Created and delivered the first PC and Macintosh training courses for university staff. As the Apple Support Coordinator for the university was responsible for all campus support for Macintosh users.
