Executive Chef Position Available

Location: Swannanoa, VA (Relocation allowance)

A renowned farm-to-table restaurant in Swannanoa, Virginia, is looking for a talented and creative Executive Chef to take charge of its culinary program. This role is perfect for a culinary professional passionate about southern-inspired cuisine and committed to showcasing the finest seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The Executive Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, including menu creation, cost management, ordering, staffing, and training, while working closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative farm-to-table menus in partnership with the culinary team.

Implement and maintain a consistent costing model to meet food cost goals.

Source and order high-quality, local ingredients while building strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Monitor food costs and ensure they align with budgeted targets.

Recruit, train, and mentor back-of-house staff, encouraging professional growth and skill development.

Create staff schedules based on labor goals and sales projections.

Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about menu items, ingredients, and selling points.

Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Maintain the restaurant’s high culinary standards to provide guests with an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

A deep passion for the hospitality industry and sustainable, farm-to-table cooking.

At least 3-5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in an upscale dining environment.

Strong leadership and coaching abilities to foster a collaborative and respectful team culture.

Knowledge of workplace safety and food safety protocols.

Culinary degree preferred but not required.

ServSafe certification is mandatory.
