Payroll Accountant

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Accountant to join our virtual team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all payroll-related activities and ensuring timely, accurate compensation for all employees. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, discretion, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities:

Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.

Maintain and update payroll records, including timesheets, deductions, and direct deposit information.

Verify hours worked and ensure the accuracy of wage calculations.

Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.

Generate payroll reports for management and reconcile payroll accounts as needed.

Assist with benefits administration and ensure proper deduction setup.

Ensure confidentiality of employee records and sensitive payroll information.

Coordinate with the HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and labor regulations.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a payroll accountant, payroll assistant, or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax filings, and accounting principles.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and payroll software.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly.

Comfortable working independently in a virtual environment.

Clear English speaking skills (C2 Level).

High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

Salary and Benefits:

Full-Time.

$4.00 to $6.00 per hour, based on experience.
