Established oil and gas company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational accounting expertise, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or a related field), and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience. This role will focus on streamlining accounting processes, providing critical financial reporting, and supporting self-funded plan accounting. Experience with JIB (Joint Interest Billing) and proficiency with OGSYS accounting software is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Accounting: Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting, specifically tailored to oil and gas operations.
Self-Funded Plan Accounting: Assist with the accounting processes related to the company’s self-funded plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies within current accounting systems and practices, recommending and implementing improvements to streamline manual and outdated processes.
JIB Accounting: Execute and review Joint Interest Billings (JIB) processes, ensuring proper allocation and timely communication with stakeholders.
Financial Packet Development: Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial statement packets, providing clear insights into company performance and operational trends.
Software Proficiency: Utilize OGSYS software to manage accounting tasks efficiently, including reporting and reconciliation functions related to oil and gas operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3+ years of proven accounting experience, with direct experience in the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of JIB (Joint Interest Billing) and operational accounting processes within oil and gas environments.
Hands-on experience with OGSYS accounting software is preferred.
Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in Excel (advanced), financial reporting, and ERP systems is highly desirable.
