New England Biolabs (NEB) is inviting applications for the position of Sr. Manager/ Associate Director, Nucleic Acid Purification Kit Development. The successful candidate

will lead a dynamic and growing team of Ph.D. level scientists developing novel kits and methods to purify DNA and RNA from a variety of sample types.

Focusing on portfolio expansion and integration with existing and emerging workflows, this position offers opportunities to work interdepartmentally to

develop novel solutions, engage with customers, attend scientific conferences, collaborate with external parties and drive strategy in this growing area.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee the design, development, and optimization of catalog and custom kits for nucleic acid purification

Establish roadmap for portfolio expansion in collaboration with dedicated interdepartmental project leads

Define technical requirements and ensure alignment with commercial and research needs

Ensure products seamlessly integrate into workflows driven by existing NEB offerings

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and integrate relevant advancements into the portfolio roadmap

Work with leadership to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence

Provide technical expertise and guidance during critical project phases, including planning, execution, product training, and troubleshooting

Ensure adherence to best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field with 8+ years experience

Proven track record of successfully leading and managing scientific teams

A passion for driving scientific advancements in a commercial setting

The ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and bring them to completion

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present scientific information to broad audiences

Scientific integrity, a track record of sound decision making and a problem-solving mindset

Experience with relevant technologies including qPCR, NGS, spectroscopy, and chromatographic systems. Direct experience developing nucleic acid purification kits a plus.
