The Labor Compliance Associate is responsible for organizing, managing, and analyzing data related to Prevailing Wage Compliance requirements. This role requires the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear, non-technical format. The ideal candidate possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong numeric reasoning and analytical abilities, a positive attitude, and flexibility. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Business related fields or Legal studies preferred
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate exceptional ability to observe technical processes and relay the information in a concise and effective way
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 365
• Working knowledge of Federal law labor issues, including but not limited to, FLSA, SCA, DBA, CBAs, preferred
• Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable MVR and background check
Typical Duties
• Uses automated workflow processes developed in-house to organize, create, and analyze information and prepare reports related to Prevailing Wage Compliance, in particular, Davis-Bacon Act’s Certified Payroll reports and Service Contract Act’s Health & Welfare Trust reports.
• Collaborates and assists in developing content and materials for Prevailing Wage Compliance related workflows, process development and automation projects.
• Gathers raw data from clients’ payroll and benefits systems to populate and create Prevailing Wage Compliance reports.
• Conducts interviews and elicits pertinent information to be used in determining compliance with different established requirements and regulations.
• Reviews and evaluates financial and payroll information identifying discrepancies from established parameters.
• Analyzes written, verbal and numerical information, draws conclusions, and makes decisions based on review of payroll records, benefit plan records, employee interviews, and data analysis.
• Prioritizes workloads, sets and follows through on deadlines.
• Maintains knowledge of compensation laws such as Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBA/DBRA) and California Prevailing Wage laws.
• Interprets complex written information such as federal regulations, legal briefs, and technical information.
• Attends meetings to gain sufficient knowledge understanding of company and its business practices, processes & procedures.
• When required, participates in client onboarding and/or consulting and auditing projects.
• Functions as internal Subject Matter Expert for labor related inquiries.
• Stays current with job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations and maintaining communications with internal and external clients.
• Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
