Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to take on a pivotal role in managing our financial operations and leading the Controllership team. This long-term contract position will focus heavily on general ledger accounting while also providing oversight for treasury functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to driving operational excellence and supporting cross-functional collaboration. This role is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee general ledger operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

• Manage treasury functions, including cash flow analysis, banking relationships, and related financial activities.

• Supervise and mentor a team consisting of the Assistant Controller, Accounting Supervisor, and Treasury Manager, along with indirect oversight of additional accounting staff.

• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting and treasury practices.

• Collaborate closely with leadership and other departments to align financial operations with organizational goals.

• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with US GAAP standards.

• Drive the preparation and consolidation of financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide auditing support and ensure accuracy in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

• Maintain advanced proficiency in accounting systems and tools to streamline operations.

• Identify and resolve issues proactively to meet deadlines and maintain operational integrity.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.

• At least 10 years of experience in accounting, including a combination of public accounting and private industry roles.

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting practices and treasury fundamentals.

• Proven ability to lead and develop teams in dynamic work environments.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and tools, as well as strong Excel skills.

• Familiarity with US GAAP standards and financial reporting requirements.

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and solve complex problems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and teamwork.
