GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Port of Palm Beach maintains a strong investment in technologies including Cisco, VMware, EMC, Synology, Meraki, and Microsoft. The IT Systems Administrator supports the Director of IT across all aspects of these platforms.
This role is responsible for assisting with the management, maintenance, diagnostics, service, and repair of the Port’s information systems infrastructure. In addition, the IT Systems Administrator will support, inform, and mentor end users as needed.
We are currently seeking a skilled Microsoft Entra/Azure Administrator to join our team and play a key role in managing and securing our identity and access management environment. Special projects may be assigned as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Effectively work with outside consultants as required by the Director of IT.
Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) solutions, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and Identity Governance.
Configure and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enterprise applications.
Integrate Entra ID with on-premises Active Directory and third-party applications using protocols such as SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and WS-Federation.
Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows server 2022 and up.
Design and Implement Active Directory (Group Policy skills a must)
Design, implement and troubleshooting GPO's
Must have experience in Online Microsoft 365 Exchange.
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 10 and up.
Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot computer workstation hardware and/or software, peripherals, UPSs, and other hardware as necessary.
Create and/or maintain related documentation and technical specifications as needed, updates or changes are made.
Monitor network performance and work with the Director of IT to troubleshoot problem areas as necessary.
Interact and work with vendors, and contractors, as necessary, to secure support services, open repair or service tickets, and supply requested information for their support services.
Keep the Director of IT informed of daily tasks, issues, and resolutions.
Responsible for programing, training, and deploying all Port Apple IOS devices.
Responsible for purchasing Port IT Department’s hardware & software, maintaining software licenses, and Port Apple devices
Assist with Security system’s maintenance for all access control, CCTV and network communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
5-7 years as a systems support specialist or similar role.
A strong knowledge of Microsoft and acceptable exposure / experience and/or education in at least one of the following Cisco Switching, Cisco Security, Cisco Voice, Ubiquity Wireless, Virtualization or Network Storage Solutions, Cyber Security is preferred.
An enthusiastic willingness to learn and expand into other IT Technologies
Must display strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot technical problems with end user’s workstations.
Certification in Azure Administration or Architecture is preferred
Previous managerial experience.
