As the Mechanical Assembler you will be responsible for the layout and fabrication of components, using schematics to cut and/or weld components from raw metal materials, to create finished products. The assembly of various mechanical components for walk-in freezers, environmental rooms, automotive test benches, calorimeters, and other custom equipment will also be required.
Main Responsibilities:
Work with production and engineering teams to ensure system specifications are met.
Read and comprehend process flow and engineering schematics.
Fabricate metal components from engineering drawing using saws, plasma cutter, bending sheet metal and basic power tools.
Install fabricated and purchased mechanical components using lifts or hoists if necessary. This includes shafts, levers, and bearings.
Assemble packaged components including modular insulated room panels.
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
All other related duties as assigned.
Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing or assembling of commercial equipment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Mechanical inclination and general building ability.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to work independently, with direction, and in groups.
Willingness to grow and learn.
Construction background a plus.
Experience with welding carbon, stainless, and aluminum flat stock, pipe, and tube using MIG and/or TIG machines a plus.
Knowledge of 5S practices and Lean methodologies. Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk.
Ability to speak verbally and read in English.
Ability to see with corrective lenses.
Ability to hear.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
Ability to use a computer.
