Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Rate: Starting at $19/HR
Position Overview:
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling a variety of simple to complex metal cabinetry and fabricated products that support essential businesses. This is not an assembly line environment-it requires precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail to produce showroom-quality finished products. Assemblers will receive hands-on training specific to the product line and will work closely with experienced team members in a fast-paced, collaborative department.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical assembly of metal cabinetry, enclosures, and related components.
Read and accurately interpret prints, drawings, and schematics.
Apply sealants, gaskets, and finishing techniques as required.
Use a variety of power, air, and hand tools, including rivet guns and grinders.
Cross-train on finishing equipment such as Fladder machines, hand grinders, and deburring tools.
Safely operate pallet jacks and handle materials as needed.
Maintain high standards of quality, precision, and detail orientation.
Identify and properly handle various metals such as steels and aluminum.
Take direction well, work independently, and contribute positively to team dynamics by offering solutions to move projects forward.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform physical tasks including standing, squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. during an 8-hour shift.
Assist with other duties as assigned, based on business needs. Position Requirements:
Experience: 2-3 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment (non-assembly line).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical Skills:
Mechanical aptitude with proven ability to use hand, power, and air tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical prints and schematics accurately.
Experience applying sealants, butyl, and gaskets.
Cross-training or experience with metal finishing equipment such as deburring and grinding tools.
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, or business software systems).
Pallet jack experience required; forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. (average parts typically 2-15 lbs.).
Ability to stand, bend, squat, reach, pull, and push throughout the shift.
Reliable attendance and ability to meet physical demands of the position.

Other Requirements:
Must reside in Columbus, OH or surrounding areas with reliable transportation.
Must pass a drug screen and background check. Preferred Qualifications:
Job shop or custom fabrication experience.
Previous experience in metalwork or fabrication (hardware insertion, deburring, finishing, press brakes, welding, paint prep, or powder coating).
Knowledge of ISO standards and procedures.
Ability to identify various metals such as different grades of steel and aluminum.
