Accounting Coordinator

Job Description

Pickering, Corts & Summerson, Inc., an award winning, multi-disciplinary engineering firm has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter to join our company as an Accounting Coordinator based in our Newtown, PA office.

Providing support as a vital part of our accounting department, this position will focus primarily on receivables – from invoicing to collections, though other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities for this Accounting Coordinator position include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing firm invoices through use of a variety of accounting platforms (Deltek Accounting Software, ECMS, Excel)

- Data Entry of completed invoicing into main accounting program (Deltek Accounting Software)

- Accounts Payable Data Entry (Deltek Accounting Software)

- Payroll processing via Paychex Flex

- Compiling data and other such reports for management and outside accounting firm

- Filing and database management

- Log receivables and perform collection activities, if required

- Maintain vendor and accounting files

- Provide assistance and back-up to other members of the accounting department

Key qualifications to this position are:

- Minimum 1-2 years accounting experience

- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), as there is a vast amount of coordination with Project Managers in order to produce correct and timely invoices

- Microsoft Word and Excel experience required

- Detail and deadline oriented

- Ability to multi-task

Although not required, a bonus if you have prior experience with:

- Providing accounting or bookkeeping services in the Engineering Industry

- Deltek Accounting Software

- Invoicing Government contracts

- PennDOT Engineering Construction Management System (ECMS) or similar
