The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer relationships within their designated geographical territory. It involves identifying potential leads, nurturing relationships, and closing deals to meet and exceed sales goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquire and maintain current and in-depth understanding of the products we sell, market conditions and competition specific to the region.
Schedule visits and manage calendar to maximize time in front of customers.
Grow business by prospecting and qualifying new opportunities
Prepare, negotiate and maintain customer contracts and formal quotations
Work with customers to investigate and resolve any quality issues
Manage customer specific inventory programs
Determine account specific strategies and work with Inside Sales to execute
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
2+ years in business to business sales. Metals industry experience a plus.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Excellent time management skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, multiplication, ratios, decimals and proportions to practical situations required.
Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary of $55,000- $65,000 annually based on education and experience, PLUS commission paid quarterly based on performance. Average commission range: $20,000- $40,000 annually.
