10784 – Business Systems Consultant – Data Governance
Purpose:
This position will be responsible for assuring that data is appropriately governed from various sources to ensure data integrity, compliance and information usability for decision making. This is accomplished by applying data management principles in cross functional settings across both business and technical stakeholders. In this hybrid business-technical role, this position will work closely with other enterprise teams to support the operations of Data Governance by ensuring system metadata, dictionaries, business glossaries, data lineage, and data security is maintained/monitored. This is an opportunity to interact with both technical partners (ETL developers, integration developers, data stewards, DBAs, architects), business partners, and leadership. Day to day administration of requests around data governance as part of the overall strategy of the organization is part of the practice operation. Deep knowledge of CCPA, CPRA, GDPR and other privacy related compliance requirements/practices and principles will be critical for this position.
Essential Functions:
Partner with the various internal and external teams to align data governance objectives with business goals.
Administer and lead day to day functions of governing restricted and sensitive data reports and sets for US audiences based on compliance and approvals.
Manage compliance on all the interfaces and closely monitor the data access controls.
Implement a framework to actively govern data in relevant data domains, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organizational processes, people practices, governance metrics, and data architecture.
Facilitate roles and responsibilities and collaboration mechanisms among stakeholders to ensure clear ownership of data assets
Understand technical commitments and ETL functions through querying and transformational logic
Facilitate governance strategies, Privacy compliance around sensitive and restricted data sets for adherence to US policies
Developing and implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Collaborating with IT on system integrations, data scalability, and security protocols.
Ensuring governance policies support business units' data needs; facilitating effective adoption of standards.
Monitoring compliance with internal policies and regulations like CCPA/CPRA/GDPR conducting audits to ensure adherence.
Identifying, resolving, and preventing data-related issues.
Serve as a liaison between business functions and various parts of the analytics organization to ensure data needs are clearly defined and evaluated against core governance principles, such as security, privacy and data quality
Partner with data stewards to identify, capture, and democratize business-critical metadata
Drive the development and implementation of data quality and data protection standards across relevant data domains
Define metrics to measure the quality of data and overall effectiveness of the data

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
12+ overall years of experience in the IT field, including at least 5+ years in data governance or related roles. 3+ years of leadership experience
Proven experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks within complex organizations
In-depth knowledge of data governance principles, data quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Expertise in using governance platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, or similar tools and data integration tools like informatica
Hands-on experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau, as well as relational and non-relational database technologies
Experience with fulfilling
Strong technical foundation in data governance, including proficiency in SQL and familiarity with tools for data cataloging and inventory management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively interacting with stakeholders and team members.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and manage high-impact projects.
Qualifications – Preferred:
Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP, DMBok, CMMI, DCAM)
Informatica CDGC Certified professional
Experience with MDM tools/platforms and governance platforms such as Informatica CDGC, Collibra, Alation
Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to data protection and privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA,CPRA).
Salary Range: $103,170 to $158,873
