Manages and oversees programs designed to foster positive relations between Stamford Health, physicians, and their office staff. Serves as a "Player-Coach" for Physician Liaisons, providing coaching and accountability. Manages a departmental sub-function, leading outreach initiatives which support Stamford Health's key service lines and strategic partnerships including Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Responsibilities

Functions as relationship manager between physicians, their office staff, and our strategic partners including Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Provides information and material to physicians and their office staff regarding programs and services at Stamford Health and serves as relationship manager between Stamford Health and referring physicians to ensure optimal positive relationships and accurate, timely communications flow.

Partner with leaders throughout the organization to increase awareness of Stamford Health's key service lines and strategic partnerships including Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Plan and facilitate educational programs and other opportunities/events to promote Stamford Health's key service lines and strategic partnerships including Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Present executive summaries for service line and strategic partnership meetings.

Lead key specific projects to strengthen strategic partnerships and increase referrals. Plan, develop and implement departmental goals, strategies, and objectives.

Coordinate targeted onsite visits to potential referring physicians in all Stamford Health service areas to build relationships and increase referrals to Stamford Health.

Develop extensive pre-call planning data to assess network integrity, and referring physicians' loyalty/splitting behavior, market conditions, etc.

Assists Director of Physician Relations with management and monitoring of Physician Relations budget.

Serve as the leader for the PRM platform (Marketware) for physician tracking. Ensures maintenance and universal documentation is upheld by the liaison team.

Responsible for setting goals and targets for the liaison team such as number of visits, and other performance metrics.

Exhibit leadership and coaching skills, motivate team members, and show appreciation for the team's efforts.

Ensure the physician relations team is growth minded and performing.

Partner with the liaison team to ensure new Stamford Health providers have a successful entry into the market.

Responsible for developing and retaining referrals from referring providers for targeted service lines.

Initiate and maintain contact using various communications tools with key referral sources identified through a data-driven targeting process for earning referrals to Stamford Health.

Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills with ability to influence others and maintain a strong focus on achieving results.

Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address and resolve any challenges or barriers that referring providers or practices may be are experiencing.

Serve as point person for system-wide initiatives or announcements for the referring provider audience.

Identify physicians/physician groups that are or should be important to service lines or hospitals as possible candidates for networking activities which will help generate increased patient referrals to Stamford Health.

Identify potential opportunities for service lines/hospitals to establish clinics or expand services, based on feedback from community physicians.

Work closely with the Marketing Department on the implementation of approved marketing strategies that support medical staff and enhance relationships between staff physicians and referring physicians, and Stamford Health.

Work closely with the strategic planning and business development team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

Minimum of 5-7 years' related experience in a health-related field, with knowledge of medical terminology

Minimum of 2 years' experience as Physician Relations Liaison or similar role

Understanding of treatments and procedures for key service lines

Computer skills on office programs such as Word and Excel

Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills both written and verbal

Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and models collaborative, cross department engagement to build consensus and creates systems for problem tracking and resolution
