We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our clients team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will play a vital part in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting across various business lines. Responsibilities:
• Perform daily monitoring of bank accounts, oversee wire transfers, and manage government payments and returned items.
• Oversee key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing.
• Manage and maintain fixed asset ledgers, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation of assets.
• Prepare and manage payroll processes for both the company and clients.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review and oversee bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
• Ensure corporate tax compliance by preparing accurate tax returns and taking advantage of applicable tax benefits.
• Prepare and file reports required by regulatory agencies, including annual reports and state sales tax filings.
• Coordinate annual independent audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
• Develop variance analysis and reporting for business line operating budgets versus actual expenses.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate or public accounting.
• At least 5 years of direct supervisory experience managing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Proficiency in payroll processes and applicable payroll tax requirements.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Enterprise One.
