Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Engineering Manager / Technical Manager to join our new facility in Houston. This is a full-time opportunity for a dynamic candidate looking for hands-on experience and career growth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in guiding subcontractors during the construction phase of our new plant by ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards. Following construction, the Engineering Manager / Technical Manager will the day-to-day operations of existing equipment and work with customers and project engineers to build new equipment for installation and deployment.

This role requires a dynamic leader who can transition from project management during the construction phase to operational leadership once the plant becomes fully operational.

Responsibilities:

Resolve technical issues, troubleshoot and come up with technical solutions to new challenges.

Guide and manage subcontractors to ensure that all construction activities are performed according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.

Oversee daily construction operations, including inspections, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols.

Monitor project progress and proactively address any issues that may arise, working closely with subcontractors to implement solutions.

Continue to source and manage the supply of parts, equipment, and services needed for ongoing plant operations.

Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring quality standards are consistently met. Periodically visit vendor locations to assess quality control and resolve any supply chain issues.

Manage all aspects of daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and inventory management.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize plant performance and efficiency.

Monitor plant metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve production targets and continuous improvement goals.

Set performance goals for plant staff and provide ongoing feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and job satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related technical degree.

Hands-on experience in a pyrolysis facility, refinery or polyethlene terephthalate plants are a major plus.

Industrial project management experience

Proactive problem-solving skills.

Dependable with a high level of moral character.
