Junior Data Analyst

The Junior Data Analyst will work collaboratively with a team to assist the Data and Analytics Centre in executing the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process of data. This process involves extracting data from various sources, transforming it to fit operational needs, and loading it into the end target. The role aims to develop data models for analytics and communicate the results to Audit teams, thereby enhancing audit quality.

Collaborate with a team to perform the Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) of data from various sources.

Troubleshooting and debugging of ETL components used including SQL stored procedures to resolve ETL errors.

Provide quality assurance over imported data and implement data quality checks and balances.

Design and develop data models for analytics purposes.

Querying data sets with T-SQL.

Create and interpret data visualizations.

Provide basic operational support for Data and Analytics solutions including database administration, database backup and restore.

Document working papers to document the processes followed to perform ETL, data quality assurance and data analytics results.

Minimum required qualifications and experience

Senior Certificate with matric exemption.

Proficient in using MS Office suite.

Data and/ or analytics related certification/ degree in engineering/ mathematics and/ or computer science.

Understanding of MS SQL Server and T-SQL language, Alteryx, Power BI, and Power Query.

Experience using Azure data studios in the ETL process.

Certifications related to MS SQL Server and/ or Alteryx.

Basic understanding of data management concepts, to allow for information lifecycle management.
