Position Summary
Join M.C. Dean's Critical Facilities team supporting mission-critical data centers where uptime is essential. As a Critical Facility Technician 2, you'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response on electrical and mechanical infrastructure that supports high-availability data center operations. This role is ideal for experienced technicians with a strong background in live data centers who are ready to take on greater responsibility while continuing to grow their technical expertise.
What You'll Do
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical electrical and mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot and repair UPS systems, generators, switchgear, ATS, STS, batteries, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, fuel systems, fire alarm systems, BMS, and EPMS.
Conduct daily facility inspections and document equipment status, environmental conditions, and alarms.
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other established safety practices.
Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and operating procedures.
Execute maintenance procedures (MOPs/SOPs) and accurately document work in the CMMS.
Respond to equipment alarms and emergency situations while maintaining maximum facility uptime.
Assist senior technicians with complex maintenance activities and coordinate with engineering staff and vendors.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 6 years of experience working with electrical and mechanical systems.
At least 3 years of experience in a live data center environment.
Experience maintaining mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, HVAC equipment, BMS, and EPMS.
Experience following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Journeyman or Master Electrician or Mechanical license.
EPA Certification.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding work in an active data center environment.
