Vaco in Atlanta is actively seeking a Sr. Data Scientist for our enterprise client located in the Galleria/Perimeter of Atlanta for a Permanent/Direct-Hire role! Candidates MUST be located in the metro Atlanta area as this is a HYBRID role: 2 days in office; 3 days remote.

Job Duties:

Collect, synthesize, manipulate and interpret large data sets, and data structures into actionable solutions

Develop analytical approaches to deliver analytic insights and solutions through in-depth data exploration and feature engineering that drive positive business outcomes

Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop ideas and execute design plans for advanced analytics; collaborating with business partners such as but not limited to product teams, data stewards, data governance and IT

Research and test new techniques related to modeling, feature extraction, data processing and product improvements

Perform feasibility analyses to demonstrate the value of different hypotheses, data sources and models. Present results and recommendations to internal customers and senior management

Oversee the design and development of data science projects across the organization to ensure adherence to best practices, providing Data Analysts/Junior Data Scientists with practical guidance, and monitoring the performance as needed.

Regularly supervise and update predictive models to ensure they remain relevant and effective in dynamic business environments.

Evaluate model performance and refining algorithms to improve accuracy, reliability, and scalability and designing and implementing A/B tests or other experiments to validate model predictions and optimize business processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other quantitative discipline

6+ years' experience with statistical or machine learning experience in marketing, credit risk, or financial, analytics domains.

6+ years' experience with SQL as well as programming with Python

Advanced competence in machine learning principles and techniques. Practical knowledge of advanced statistical techniques, predictive modeling, time series forecasting, and techniques such as random forest, GBM, neural networks, SVMs, ensemble models and text mining.

Strong consultative acumen with the ability to understand complex analytical solutions and present them to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or Analytics

Experience working with natural language processing

Advanced knowledge of machine learning & feature engineering techniques

Working knowledge of Generative AI and experience on large language models

Prior deep experience building financial/credit risk and other models within the Financial Services Industry
