About the Role

As the Port Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of cargo for the U.S. Air Force in Tinian. You will leverage your extensive port operations experience and knowledge of military contracting systems (LOGCAP, AFCAP, or GCS-MAC) to manage all aspects of cargo receipt, handling, and onward movement.

Responsibilities:

. Facilitate Seamless Operations:

o Coordinate effectively with the U.S. Military and Port Authorities to ensure smooth cargo processing and adherence to regulations.

o Develop and implement comprehensive plans for receiving incoming Air Force shipments.

o Secure and manage organic port Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and crane assets to optimize cargo handling.

. Streamline Cargo Movement:

o Oversee the marshalling of offloaded materials and equipment for efficient staging and organization.

o Coordinate the onward movement of materials and equipment from the port to designated work locations.

. Support Personnel Needs:

o Coordinate life support services for deployed Air Force personnel, ensuring their well-being during port operations.

. Maintain Transparency:

o Meticulously document all port activities, maintaining detailed and accurate records for reporting and future reference.

Basic Job Requirements

Qualifications:

. Minimum 5 years of experience operating in a port environment, demonstrated by a proven track record of success.

. Experience working with military contracting systems such as LOGCAP, AFCAP, or GCS-MAC is a plus.

. In-depth knowledge of port operations, including cargo handling procedures, safety regulations, and logistics best practices.

. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related logistics software programs.

. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.

. Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess a valid U.S. work visa.

Preferred Qualifications

. Five (5) years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry including the performance of functional tasks on projects with a basic understanding of procedures and interfaces

. Flexible and adaptable approach, willing to take on new work challenges

. Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and task

. Customer focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company's needs

. Demonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skills

. Proactive reporting of progress and accomplishments of assignments and apply necessary follow-up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignments

. Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions

. Technical writing skills

. Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and project management tools

. Certification in project management suggested, for example Project Management Professional (PMP)

. Foundational Revit experience to include deliverables associated with LEED and sustainability-related reporting and energy modeling
