The Content & Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of Solutions Engineering and Design (SE&D) training library and content. In this role, you will be responsible for producing first-class learning material with a focus on ease of consumption and effectiveness of delivery. Working with Solutions Engineering & Design team, a key output of this position will be the development of online curriculum that is flexible, comprehensive, and tailored to both new hires and tenured professionals. You will partner with business units, project managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMES) to conduct needs analysis and develop training content and solutions. The Content & Instructional Designer’s primary goal is to drive program effectiveness to directly impact overall productivity of the SE&D team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Work closely with Solutions Engineering & Design leadership to assess and develop interactive online training curriculum.

Convert current training materials into more interactive learning modules using instructional design technologies/platforms.

Plan and manage instructional design projects following comprehensive design process from needs analysis through implementation, post-launch evaluation, and optimization.

Act as a consultant to SMEs, serving as a creative and planning resource for content development to facilitate optimal consumption of end-result training materials.

Act as the owner of SE&D content library through the effective management of the LMS and additional content delivery platforms producing best in class learning experience for team members.

Evaluate training content segmentation based on roles/responsibilities and background, contributing to the overall assignment and delivery of training courses into a comprehensive and individualized curricula assignment.

Engage with SE&D to develop content training assessments that will evaluate learner comprehension of materials.

Track and organize organizational content needs to determine content roadmap and prioritize resources for development.

Maintain relevancy of training materials through the routine evaluation and updating of content.

Develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness of online training material to demonstrate the business impact of all training initiatives.

Maintain current knowledge of the latest industry trends to ensure the right tools and platforms are leveraged to ensure training is efficient, engaging, and successful in meeting objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

BA or BS degree, or relevant professional experience in Instructional Design/Learning & Development, preferably in the Telecommunications and IT industries.

Exceptional ability to deliver professional learning materials using software applications specific to instructional design i.e. Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

Demonstrated experience in directly creating training content and job aids to support comprehensive and retention of key training objectives.

Demonstrated experience owning e-learning course development from beginning to end.

Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies.

Advanced organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects to meet target dates for implementation.

Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute and follow-up in a timely manner and anticipate problems and roadblocks

Demonstrate project management and project leadership skills.

Highly detailed-oriented with an ability to review and edit content.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to create cross-departmental relationships, lead projects with diverse teams, and influence decision making with senior-level audiences.

Ability to define process improvements and outline strategies as well as execute as a hands-on member of the team.

Self-starter with strong work ethic and a positive, solution-oriented attitude able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively shift gears to meet changing business requirements

Exceptional listening and written communication skills

Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Fluency with SharePoint a plus

Video editing experience a plus
