Job Purpose
The Projects Coordinator is responsible, under the supervision of the Program Senior Specialist and the
Program Manager, for supporting the pre award submission and evaluation process as well as the postaward
financial and technical reporting requirements linked to the Research and Innovation Fund (the
Fund). They will also assist with the delivery of key activities and events initiated by the Research &
Innovation Centre for Graphene & 2D materials (RIC 2D).
Job Duties but not limited to
Assist with the reporting and validation process for the Research & Innovation Fund, supporting the
team to ensure adherence to the program submission guidelines.
Carry out data entry of proposal information and award details into management databases,
maintaining and updating records as appropriate.
Assist with the proposal & monitoring reports evaluation process, including but not limited to,
preparation of review packs, collation of reviewer reports, payments and status updates in a
confidential manner.
Provide administrative support around receiving financial and technical reports relating to awards
issued by the Research and Innovation Fund ensuring the documentation is complete and in full
compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
Work closely with the Office of Research Services to ensure the timely reconciliation of accounts, nocost
extensions, budget modifications and verification of expenditure on funded projects.
Assist in collating and preparing material for Board and Committee meetings for RIC 2D as required.
Support online visibility of the Fund activities, including collection of relevant content for website
updates.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Line Manager, including administrative support for major project
meetings such as the annual Symposium.
Support the wider activities of the Research & Innovation Centre as necessary.
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as
and when needed including the University Sponsored Research Team and Office of Research Services.
Keep up to date with policy changes to ensure processes adhere to all current policies.
Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and
report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
Minimum Requirement
A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Finance or Science/Engineering subjects.
Strong formal communication skills (verbal & written English)
Strong IT skills including Microsoft programs, particularly excel.
Experience with databases or usage of management data systems an advantage
Experience of updating website & social media platforms an advantage
Financial monitoring and reporting experience an advantage
Experienced in handling confidential & sensitive data an advantage
Experience of University Research environment preferred
