Compensation: $96,000 to $110,000 Annually Full benefits

The position will involve electrical system architecture definition, systems engineering, circuit design/analysis, and the facilitation of cross functional teams for space launch vehicle control electronics for electromechanical actuation systems.

Sr. Design Engineer will...

Review and interpret customer specifications in order to design electromechanical thrust vector control system electronic controllers and power supplies.

Work with and function as a lead for the electrical design team. The role will require facilitating and supporting efforts of thermal analysts, packaging engineers, firmware design engineers, circuit board layout designers, EMI/EMC design engineers, systems engineers, and test engineers/technicians.

Provide a cost conscious electronic controller design including: analog signal conditioning, digital hardware circuit design (FPGA based), low voltage power supply design, A/D and D/A circuitry, and brushless DC motor drives.

Work closely with subject matter experts to jointly define requirements and implementation.

Design, simulate, and analyze circuitry; perform analyses such as tolerance, component derating, power, BIT coverage, stability, etc.

Perform initial prototype testing, integration testing, and design verification / validation. Test and troubleshoot electronics, electronic subsystems and circuit cards.

Specify and support the design of test equipment and test setups.

Interact with customers on a professional and technical level to help drive the requirements and design to a successful Technical/Cost/Schedule solution.

Provide formal technical presentations to customers for program reviews and business development.

Support business unit bid and proposal efforts with cost estimates and technical write-ups.

Minimum Requirements to be considered…

MSEE (BSEE will be considered)

Minimum, 7+ years motor/servomechanism controller design experience

Motivated individual who can work in both office and lab environments equally well

Military / Aerospace / NASA program design experience

Knowledge of High Reliability Circuit Design in a Space Radiation Environment

TVC Flight Control Systems Integration desired but not required.
