Description Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced Controller to support a contract to hire opportunity with a Construction firm in Columbus, Ohio.
In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting to support the organization's goals.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a background in construction accounting who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Role will include some accounting clean-up (catching up 2026 monthly reporting), WIP entries, payroll, and execution of all accounting/bookkeeping responsibilities.
Prior construction industry experience is required.
This role is 100% onsite at the client's location in Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities: - Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Process and manage payroll operations, including resolving any backlog issues.
- Handle accounts payable and oversee general accounting processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and post journal entries using Sage Intacct or a comparable system.
- Manage billing and contract invoicing processes efficiently to meet organizational needs.
- Support Work-in-Progress reporting, including performing percentage-of-completion accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders and management.
- Collaborate with teams to streamline accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements - Extensive experience in construction accounting, with the ability to handle specialized processes.
- Proficiency in managing billing and schedules specific to construction projects.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct or similar platforms.
- Strong ability to adapt quickly and operate effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Expertise in full-cycle payroll management and accounts payable processes.
- Proven track record of preparing and managing monthly financial close and reporting.
- Ability to perform detailed journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
