Job Purpose
To assist in the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of occupational safety and health practices within the organization. The Trainee Safety and Health Officer will support compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices while gaining practical experience in workplace safety management.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and audits.
Support the identification, assessment, and control of workplace hazards and risks.
Participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and prepare reports.
Assist in maintaining safety records, registers, and documentation.
Monitor compliance with health and safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
Support the delivery of safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
Assist in organizing emergency drills and safety training sessions.
Conduct routine site visits to ensure employees are working safely and using the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Help investigate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Assist in preparing monthly HSE reports and statistics.
Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives as assigned by management.
Perform any other related duties assigned by the Safety and Health Officer
