Position Overview

An automotive manufacturer is seeking an Assembly Assistant Manager to lead daily seat assembly operations in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This position is primarily responsible for one of three assembly lines, with approximately 30–40 associates per line, and provides support to other lines as needed. The role emphasizes people leadership, production accountability, safety, and quality, with potential advancement into an Assembly Manager position over time.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead daily assembly operations and hold the team accountable for safety, quality, and productivity expectations.

· Train and develop coordinators and associates, including job rotation to strengthen team capabilities.

· Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and safe work practices throughout the assigned production area.

· Monitor production change-point controls and support audits and new-model activities.

· Manage associate attendance records using Kronos.

· Prepare monthly business-plan and progress reports for management.

· Work with the Assembly Manager and fellow Assistant Manager to address production needs and support other assembly lines as required.

Qualifications

· Production or shift leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

· Strong people leadership skills, including training, employee development, and team accountability.

· Experience maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards on the production floor.

· Experience with complex manufacturing or assembly processes involving numerous components is strongly preferred.

· Automotive manufacturing or Honda supplier experience is helpful but not required.
