CNC Programmer - Vertical & Lathe

Job Summary

We're hiring a hands-on CNC Programmer to develop, prove out, and optimize programs for both vertical machining centers and CNC lathes. This is a shop-floor role — you'll work directly alongside operators and setup techs, dial in jobs at the machine, and own the programs you write from first part to steady-state production. If you take pride in clean, efficient code and want your work judged by how well it runs at 2 AM on second shift, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Program CNC verticals and lathes using CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent) from customer prints and models;

Develop efficient tool paths that balance cycle time, tool life, and surface finish;

Select tooling, workholding, and cutting parameters appropriate to material and part geometry;

Prove out new programs at the machine, including first-article runs and operator handoff; troubleshoot and optimize existing programs to reduce cycle time and scrap;

Build and maintain setup sheets, tool lists, and work instructions;

Collaborate with QC on GD&T interpretation, inspection planning, and non-conformance closeout;

Support AS9100 and CMMC compliance through traceable documentation and revision control;

Contribute to continuous improvement, including fixturing ideas, process changes, and automation opportunities.
