Business Development Manager, Litigation and Investigations practice group. This is a hybrid role, and candidates can work out of any of the following office locations: Washington, DC, New York, NY, Boston, MA, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Palo Alto, CA. This role works with the Director, practice group leaders and senior lawyers. The ideal candidate has a background in litigation business development/marketing.
Duties: Develop marketing/BD budgets for assigned groups. Work directly with senior lawyers to implement business development initiatives/programs around new business generation. Prepare targeted client pitch materials, including responses to RFPs, and conduct prep sessions with attorneys prior to client meetings. Leverage the Marketing Research team to analyze market opportunities and assist attorneys/groups with preparation for client meetings. Coordinate with members of the BD team on pitches and other efforts. Identify sponsorship and speaking opportunities. Recommend thought-leadership and CLE programs for clients/prospects. Provide support for practice events. Draft targeted submissions for relevant practices for directory listings and other awards. Develop practice-specific and geographic-focused marketing materials. Develop and maintain website content, brochures, and external communication pieces. Assist with supervision of litigation BD specialists.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Must have at least three or more years of experience in law firm or professional services marketing and business development. Prior law firm BD experience working with litigation and/or transactions teams is desirable. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and initiative. Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Salesforce experience is a plus. Salary range is $159k – $208k dependent on experience and location.
